In choosing Baptism for your child, you are cooperating with God’s plan for all His children. Baptism is the first step on your child’s Journey into Faith.
If you are expecting your first child, have just had your first child, or desire baptism for an older child, parents are required to attend two baptismal preparation sessions that are each approximately 90 minutes.
These sessions are led by our Pastoral Associate and Baptism Catechist Diane Wickersheim.
Parents who have already participated in some form of Baptismal preparation in the past, are welcome but not required to attend.
Contact our parish secretary to schedule a Baptism preparation session or baptism date.
Baptism Preparation Session - Belonging: Baptism in the Family of God
Explore the meaning of Baptism along with an online devotional series. Two separate sessions are offered. Each 90 minutes in length. They begin at 6:30 pm at the Sacred Heart Parish site.
The two sessions are held at the parents' convenience except on a holiday. The sessions may be combined into one session.
Baptisms are scheduled over a specific weekend held once a month in our Tri-Parish community. It is the custom of the church not to have baptisms during Lent.
Choose from any of our Tri-Parishes locations.
We look forward to your child becoming part of our Tri-Parish family!
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a healing Sacrament where God’s love overshadows and transforms our sin. The grace of Christ is present and gives life were there once was sin.
The Church asks that a Catholic Christian celebrate the Sacrament at least once a year. Frequent Confession builds a life of grace and love.
Please make an appointment with Fr. Mike. His contact information is listed below.
Parish-wide Reconciliation Services are provided during Lent and Advent. These schedules are posted in the News page. and in the bulletin.

Confirmation comes to a moment of initiation for those who are 16, baptized, have received their First Holy Communion and are living a life of faith.

Priesthood
The Ministerial priesthood, received in the Sacrament of Holy Orders, conforms a man in a particular way to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. This conformity gives the priest the aurhority to speak and act in the person of Christ in the sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation.
The purpose of the priesthood is to serve the people of God by building up and guiding the Church in the name of Christ, who is Head of the Body.

Religious Life
In this privileged state [the religious life] there is a happy and wonderful exchange; for goods of this world are given up and in their place the goods of Heaven are received.
Treasures that will pass away are surrendered in exchange for treasures that last forever. Articles of no value are swapped for articles of priceless value. - St. Basil
